Homemade pizza is so simple to make and you can put any toppings you like. In this video I am going to show you how to make pizza dough at home. I also show you how to make pizza sauce from scratch.
If you want to make homemade pizza sauce from scratch the ingredients are below
Ingredients : How to make pizza dough (makes 2 medium size pizzas or one large one. You can make more smaller pizzas)
500 grams plain flour
250 ml lukewarm water (may need more or less depending on the flour you use)
2 teaspoons salt
7 gram packet of yeast
2 tablespoon vegetable oil or olive oil
half a teaspoon of sugar (optional)
Mozarella cheese or cheese of your choice.
Method : How to make pizza dough at home
Get a cookie tray and put to the side
Put all the dry ingredients in a bowl.
Make a well in the centre of the bowl, add in the oil and water.
Mix this together to form a dough, knead it gently in the bowl, or on a lightly floured work surface. Cover the dough and put aside for an hour. (If you are out of time you can bake immediately)
While the dough is resting make some pizza sauce (look below)
About 5 minutes before the dough is ready, preheat oven to 230 Celsius
When the pizza dough is ready, put some flour on a work surface, put the dough on it.
Knead the dough gently until smooth and then roll it out on the work surface until quite thin. It will puff up in the oven.
Making homemade pizza
Once you have made your homemade pizza dough you can now make the pizza.
Put the pizza dough on the baking tray, it is a lot easier to transfer it now.
Spread the homemade pizza sauce on the dough, leave a small boarder around the edges.
If using other toppings put them on top of the homemade pizza sauce.
Finally sprinkle on the cheese
Bake in the oven for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown on top
Get it out of the oven and you can add some more fresh herbs on top before cutting and serving.
