In this video tutorial, I show you the creaming method step by step. The creaming method is a method used in cake making. I also share with you some creaming method recipes.
If using butter make sure it is soft so that it can mix well into the rest of the ingredients. If it is cold it will be lumpy and very difficult to mix in.
Softened butter (Leaving it at room temperature in a warm room for a few hours is enough to soften it.). If you need to bake but forgot to soften the butter you can soften it in a microwave, a few second bursts at a time.
Put the softened butter into a large enough bowl to hold all your ingredients.
Add in the sugar and mix or whisk together until smooth and creamy
Add in the egg and vanilla extract and whisk
Finally add the flour and fold it in or whisk it in
In this creaming method recipe I used the following ingredients
1 large egg (about 70 grams)
100 grams self raising flour
50 grams sugar
50 grams softened butter
20 ml vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon milk (optional)
