All you need is flour and water and other optional extras

Ingredients flatbread recipe no yeast no dairy

250 grams flour (I used half wholemeal and half white)

100-150 ml water (may need more or less depending on your flour)

half teaspoon salt (optional)

herbs and spices (optional)

butter to spread on the bread (optional)

Method of making flatbread recipe no yeast no dairy

Put the flour, salt and seasoning into a bowl.

Add your water a little bit at a time to get a thick dough.

If the dough is too wet add more flour to make in manageable. Flours differ so they absorb water differently. Some may need more water and some slightly less.

Weigh the dough and then divide it by as many wraps as you want so that you get your wraps the same size. I made 8 with this recipe but if you want bigger ones you could maybe make 6.

Roll the pieces of dough until flat, put some flour on a work surface. Put one piece of a dough ball on the flour and a bit on a rolling pin.

Roll it be rolling it a bit, turning the dough and rolling. Keep rolling and turning so that it keeps a circle shape and also so that it does not stick.

If it sticks on the work surface add a bit more flour, roll them very thinly.

Heat up a pan until very hot on a stove, place your bread on it. When it turns a bit darker on top than when you first put it on the pan it is time to flip it. It only takes a few seconds, less than a minute. Depends how hot your hob is

You may notice that it puffs up a bit as well.

Flip onto the other side and cook for a few seconds

Put it on a plate, spread some butter cover with a tea towel, to keep them warm. Repeat the process and pile them on top of each other.

Serve with soups or make them as wraps.

Enjoy.
