In this video tutorial I show you how to make Royal icing using egg white powder. Some people like to make this because eggs in certain countries are not safe to it raw. Egg white powder is also referred to as meri-white or meringue powder.
If eggs in your country are safe to eat raw then make Royal icing with fresh egg whites because it tastes much better and the consistency is better too.
This recipe makes a small batch but you can always multiply it to make larger quantities.
- 160 grams icing sugar
- 1 tablespoon egg white powder or meringue powder
- 2 tablespoons water
- Put the icing sugar in a bowl
- Add in the egg white powder
- Add the water in.
- Whisk this until soft peaks form and that is all
- If it is too this for whatever you need it for you can thin it down with some more water until you get the consistency you need.
