Feathering is a nice simple and effective cake decorating technique. In this video I teach you how to feather chocolate, I used a white chocolate base and dark chocolate piping.
Ingredients to feather chocolate
A cake of your choice, but you can use cupcakes or cookies too
White chocolate
Dark chocolate
Method to feather icing
Bake you cake and leave it to cool
Melt some white chocolate in the microwave or over a pot of boiling water, leave it to set a bit so that it does not run of the cake
Melt some dark chocolate or milk chocolate in the same way as the white chocolate and put it in a piping bag
Pour the white chocolate on top of the cake and spread it to the edges of your cake
Cut a small hole at the end of the piping bag and then pipe the chocolate on top of the white chocolate and leave some space between the lines.
Get a toothpick and run the toothpick up one way and then up the opposite way to create the feathered design.
Leave to set before serving
