Orange goes really well in cake. I use orange zest to flavour the cakes and freshly squeezed
Ingredients : for orange drizzle loaf cake
130 grams butter
130 ml vegetable oil
250 grams caster sugar
300 grams self-raising flour
4 large eggs
zest of a large orange
For the orange drizzle
Juice of the zested orange
2 tablespoons caster sugar
Method for orange drizzle loaf cake
Pre-heat oven to 180 Celsius
Line a loaf tin with butter and flour or greaseproof paper at the bottom.

Put the butter, oil and caster sugar in a large bowl.
Add the orange zest and whisk together
Add the eggs one at a time and whisk well between each egg added
Finally add in the flour and yoghurt
Mix until smooth, put the mixture into your prepare cae tin
Bake in the oven for about 45 mins to an hour.
Test with a toothpick, if it comes out clean it is ready
Now time to add the orange drizzle into the cake
Put the two tablespoons of sugar in a bowl, add the orange juice from the zested orange and stir
Poke holes into the cake, while it is still hot, with a toothpick. Put your drizzle on top and let it soak in the cake
Leave it to cool completely, dust with some icing sugar (optional) and serve.
