Homemade sprinkles are a lot easier to make than one may expect. In this video tutorial I show you how to make sprinkles. These homemade sprinkles can be used for cakes, cupcakes and anything else you may need to decorate with sprinkles, including ice cream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The great thing about making sprinkles is that it is quite therapeutic and they can be made in advance. They can be made in between other baking activities or even while watching a T.V show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are great for personalising so the colours you make can be customised to the bakes you are making and you can make as many or as little as you need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What you need to make sprinkles<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

White Fondant<\/a>, you can use store bought or make your own with this easy fondant icing recipe for beginners<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gel colours, any of your choice<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you do not want to colour your own fondant you can buy some already coloured fondant<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

small plunger cutters<\/a> or any other small cutters<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some icing sugar<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A small fondant rolling pin <\/a>and a board<\/a> or work surface<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A piece of baking paper to put sprinkles on to dry<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will also need a storage jar for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Method : Homemade Sprinkles<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Break off pieces of the white fondant and colour it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Put a bit of icing sugar on a chopping board or work surface and roll out the fondant very thinly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cut out shapes using plunger cutters of your choice and put them on the baking paper<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Repeat with all colours and shapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leave these to set for a couple of hour, overnight or a few days. (This will depend on how quickly your fondant dries)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
