{"id":242,"date":"2014-01-18T12:34:01","date_gmt":"2014-01-18T12:34:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mybakeoff.com\/?p=242"},"modified":"2015-10-27T11:46:49","modified_gmt":"2015-10-27T11:46:49","slug":"simple-water-icing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/meadowbrownbakery.com\/?p=242","title":{"rendered":"Simple Water Icing"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Simple Water Icing<\/h2>\n<p>I usually make this simple water icing when I want decorating that is not too time consuming yet still achieves beautiful results.\u00a0 You can make it as runny or as thick as you like.<\/p>\n<p>It can be used to ice cupcakes, biscuits and to decorate <a title=\"Gingerbread men\" href=\"https:\/\/meadowbrown-trh1.wp1.site\/gingerbread-men\/\" target=\"_blank\">gingerbread men<\/a>.\u00a0 it is simple enough for children who love baking to make and they can use it to decorate their <a title=\"Gingerbread men\" href=\"https:\/\/meadowbrown-trh1.wp1.site\/gingerbread-men\/\" target=\"_blank\">gingerbread men<\/a> or any of their simple baked goodies like fairy cakes<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A bowl of icing sugar, the amount will depend on what you want to decorate<\/li>\n<li>Water<\/li>\n<li>A spoon<\/li>\n<li>Food colouring (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Put some icing sugar in a bowl<\/p>\n<p>Add some water a little bit at a time to the consistency you need.\u00a0 If you make it too thick it will be difficult to spread and too runny it will drip down the sides of the cakes or biscuits.\u00a0 This is the time to add food colouring if you are using any.<\/p>\n<p>Spread on top of the cakes or biscuits and let it dry before eating.\u00a0 If you are using sprinkles, sprinkle them on top before the icing dries and then let them dry.\u00a0Sprinkles (optional)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/meadowbrown-trh1.wp1.site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/IMG_67021.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-243 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/meadowbrown-trh1.wp1.site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/IMG_67021-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"Gingerbread men with water icing\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/meadowbrownbakery.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/IMG_67021-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/meadowbrownbakery.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/IMG_67021-600x448.jpg 600w, https:\/\/meadowbrownbakery.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/IMG_67021-1024x764.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Variations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can use lemon juice or orange juice instead of water.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Simple Water Icing I usually make this simple water icing when I want decorating that is not too time consuming yet still achieves beautiful results.\u00a0 You can make it as runny or as thick as you like.
