{"id":2044,"date":"2016-05-07T04:11:59","date_gmt":"2016-05-07T04:11:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress-1235014-4411782.cloudwaysapps.com\/?p=2044"},"modified":"2019-01-02T15:38:59","modified_gmt":"2019-01-02T15:38:59","slug":"iced-biscuits-easy-biscuit-recipe-for-kids-biscuit-recipe-uk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/meadowbrownbakery.com\/?p=2044","title":{"rendered":"Iced biscuits : Easy biscuit recipe for kids : Biscuit recipe UK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I love baking biscuits especially when I and even though I rate <a href=\"https:\/\/meadowbrown-trh1.wp1.site\/lemon-shortbread\/\">lemon shortbread <\/a>as my most favourite biscuit I really enjoy these iced\u00a0 biscuits too.\u00a0 It is an easy biscuit recipe for kids to bake with adult supervision.<\/p>\n<p>I will share the recipe with you below and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>115 grams soft unsalted butter<\/li>\n<li>85 grams caster sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 medium egg yolk<\/li>\n<li>zest of one small lemon<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>200 grams plain flour<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Decorating<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>lemon icing made like <a href=\"https:\/\/meadowbrown-trh1.wp1.site\/simple-water-icing\/\">water icing<\/a><\/li>\n<li>food colouring (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Preheat oven to 200 Celsius.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare two baking trays or if you have one use that one and then just reuse it for the next batch.<\/li>\n<li>Cream the butter and sugar in a bowl and then add in the lemon zest and vanilla and mix well and then add the egg yolk and mix.<\/li>\n<li>Finally add in the flour and mix until it forms a dough.<\/li>\n<li>Lightly flour your work surface and tip your dough on to it and lightly flour the dough on top and roll the dough to about 5mm.<\/li>\n<li>Cut out rounds which are about 8 cm round and then cut out the centre with a smaller round cutter which is about 2.5 cm. Gather up the remaining dough and cut out more shapes.<\/li>\n<li>Put the rings on a baking tray and bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.<\/li>\n<li>When they are ready leave them on the cooling rack for about two minutes before moving them to a cooling rack to cool completely. If you try to move the biscuits to a cooling rack whilst still hot they will break.<\/li>\n<li>While they are cooling make your lemon icing like in this <a href=\"https:\/\/meadowbrown-trh1.wp1.site\/simple-water-icing\/\">water icing<\/a> recipe just replacing the water for the lemon juice from the zested lemon.
