It is a great recipe to use up some sourdough discard and starter.  Sourdough discard really is sourdough starter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients for sourdough focaccia<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>250 grams white bread flour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>100 grams sourdough starter or sourdough discard<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>175ml water<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>   2 teaspoons salt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Italian herb mix (I buy mine in a jar)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Method for sourdough discard<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Mix all the sourdough sourdough focaccia ingredients in a bowl, gently knead it in the bowl<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cover the bowl and leave it to rise until double in size<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prepare a cookie tray with some baking paper<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gently gather the dough in the bowl and transfer it to the baking tray, stretch it as best as you can into a focaccia shape<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Flour or oil your hands if the dough is too sticky<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cover the dough with a piece of oiled clingfilm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leave it to rest and rise for about 3o mins to an hour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using floured fingers press random dimples into the dough<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sprinkle some salt on top and drizzle the olive oil on top<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pre-heat oven to 200 Celcius<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bake for about 30-40 minutes until golden brown on top<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remove from the oven, add more olive oil and herbs (optional)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leave to cool slightly and serve<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In this video tutorial I show you how to make this simple sourdough focaccia.
