{"id":16388,"date":"2021-09-16T12:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-09-16T12:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress-1235014-4411782.cloudwaysapps.com\/?p=16388"},"modified":"2022-03-17T17:57:34","modified_gmt":"2022-03-17T17:57:34","slug":"cherry-bakewell-traybake-cherry-bakewell-cake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/meadowbrownbakery.com\/?p=16388","title":{"rendered":"Cherry Bakewell traybake : Cherry Bakewell Cake"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Cherry Bakewell Cake : Cherry Madeira Cake Recipe : Simple baking recipes for beginners\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/X986piCFDDs?feature=oembed\"  allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This cherry bakewell traybake cake has some glace cherries and almonds.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients for cherry Bakewell cake<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>175 grams butter, softened and unsalted<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>225 grams glace cherries<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>175 grams caster sugar<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>225 grams self-raising flour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>  60 grams ground almonds<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> 40 grams flaked almonds<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>  3 large eggs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>a few drops of almond extract (optional)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Method for cherry Bakewell cake<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Pre-heat oven to 160 Celsius<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grease and line a square 7 inch\/18 cm cake tin<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cut the glace cherries into quarters then place them in a colander or seive and wash them to rinse out they syrup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pat them dry with some paper towel and put them to the side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cream the butter and sugar in a bowl and then start to add the eggs one at a time and whisk well between each egg added   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add in the flour, ground almonds, almond extract and cherries, mix<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Put the mixture in the prepared cake tin, spread it with a knife<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sprinkle the flaked almonds on top<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bake in the oven for about one hour 30 minutes (depends on your oven) or until well risen and slightly golden brown on top.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Test with a toothpick, if it comes out clean it is ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leave it in the cake tin for about 10 minutes then remove the cake from the tin and put it on a cooling completely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can dust some icing sugar on top (optional)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This cherry bakewell traybake cake has some glace cherries and almonds.
