This apple cinnamon streusel cake is one of our family favourites, it is quite simple and quick to make and tastes and smells and tastes amazing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ingredients for cinnamon apple streusel cake<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

115 grams soft unsalted butter<\/p>\n\n\n\n

500 grams apples, you can use cooking apples or your favourite eating apples<\/p>\n\n\n\n

175 grams self raising flour<\/p>\n\n\n\n

60 grams caster sugar<\/p>\n\n\n\n

60 grams soft brown sugar<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 teaspoon cinnamon powder<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 large eggs<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 tablespoons milk<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cinnamon sugar streusel topping<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

120 grams self-raising flour<\/p>\n\n\n\n

90 grams butter<\/p>\n\n\n\n

90 grams caster sugar or soft brown sugar<\/p>\n\n\n\n

half teaspoon cinnamon powder<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Method for cinnamon sugar streusel cake<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Pre-heat oven to 180 Celsius<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grease a 9 inch\/23 cm round springform cake tin<\/a> and put some greaseproof paper at the bottom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make the cinnamon sugar streusel topping by putting the flour, sugar and cinnamon powder in a bowl. Rub in the butter and put to the side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peel the apples and cut thin slices and put them to the side<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make the cake batter by creaming the butter and sugar together<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add the eggs one at a time and mix well before adding the next egg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now add the flour, cinnamon powder and milk and mix until smooth<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Put the mixture into the cake tin and smooth over the top. Add the apples on top<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally add the streusel topping on top, do your best to cover the apples<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bake in the hour for about an hour until slightly golden brown and firm on top<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Test with a tooth pick inserted inside the cake, if it comes out clean it is ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leave it to cool in the tin for about 20 minutes and the remove the cake from the tin by loosening the side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leave it on the base to cool completely. You can transfer to a serving plate by using a cake lifter<\/a> or leave it on the base.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
