Orange goes really well in cake. I use orange zest to flavour the cakes and freshly squeezed<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ingredients : for orange drizzle loaf cake<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

130 grams butter<\/p>\n\n\n\n

130 ml vegetable oil<\/p>\n\n\n\n

250 grams caster sugar<\/p>\n\n\n\n

300 grams self-raising flour<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4 large eggs<\/p>\n\n\n\n

zest of a large orange<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the orange drizzle<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Juice of the zested orange<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 tablespoons caster sugar<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Method for orange drizzle loaf cake<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Pre-heat oven to 180 Celsius<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Line a loaf tin with butter and flour or greaseproof paper at the bottom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loaf tin liners: https:\/\/amzn.to\/3vL3w5q <\/a>(affiliate)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2lbs (907grams) Glass loaf tin : https:\/\/amzn.to\/2OUi1TV <\/a>(affiliate)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Put the butter, oil and caster sugar in a large bowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add the orange zest and whisk together<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add the eggs one at a time and whisk well between each egg added<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally add in the flour and yoghurt<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mix until smooth, put the mixture into your prepare cae tin<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bake in the oven for about 45 mins to an hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Test with a toothpick, if it comes out clean it is ready<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now time to add the orange drizzle into the cake<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Put the two tablespoons of sugar in a bowl, add the orange juice from the zested orange and stir<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poke holes into the cake, while it is still hot, with a toothpick. Put your drizzle on top and let it soak in the cake<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leave it to cool completely, dust with some icing sugar (optional) and serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
