In this video tutorial I will be showing you how to decorate red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese icing. The techniques I will show you in the video can be used on any other type of cupcakes and with most icings and or frostings which have the right consistency. To be able to pipe your icing onto cupcakes it has to be thick but not too thick otherwise it will not go through the piping bag.
If the frosting is too runny it will not hold its shape when piped so it’s important to find the right consistency to hold its shape.
If you would like to know how to bake the delicious and moist red velvet cupcakes I decorated in this video you can find the recipe here on my blog and here is the link to take you there. These are the best red velvet cupcakes I’ve ever baked and they keep quite well for a couple of daysHow to bake red velvet cupcakes
The cream cheese frosting I used in the recipe is delicious, quick and very simple to make. It is the same cream cheese frosting I use for my carrot cakes too. Sometimes I have to multiply the cream cheese frosting a couple of times depending on how much I have been baking.
This cream cheese frosting is enough to ice 12 cupcakes but if you need more, depending on how much you actually use to put on your cupcakes, then you can always make some more. The cream cheese icing recipe also has a step by step video showing you how to make it. You will find that is very simple and straightforward.
I hope you enjoy watching the video and having a go and baking your own cupcakes, making the cream cheese frosting to go on them and then finally decorating them
